BYM Summit Begins!

The BYM Executive Team and Advisory Board have been working tirelessly to deliver what we believe to be the best summit yet.  And it all begins with registrations commencing in less than 6 hours!  We've assembled an amazing line-up of guest speakers that will inspire the 2010 BYM Summit delegates to become the socially responsible leaders of today and tomorrow.  The speakers are (in order of appearance at the upcoming Summit):

  • Kalpana Vignehsa-Smith (BYM Alumni and The Street University*)
  • Peter Williams (CEO, Deloitte Digital)
  • Steven Persson (CEO, The Big Issue)
  • Tony Abrahams (CEO, Access Innovation)
  • Hugh Evans (CEO, Global Poverty Project)
  • Anna Rose (Co-Director, Australian Youth Climate Coalition)
  • Robert Rabbin (Owner, Real Time Speaking)
  • Donnie Maclurcan (Project Australia)
  • Charlie Regan (CEO, Nerds On Site)
  • Prof. Ian Harper (Chairman, Australian Fair Pay Commission)
  • Lauren Anderson (Former BYM Director)
  • Greg Nelson (BYM Alumni, youthleadership.org.au and North Websites)

We are proud to have these esteemed speakers involved, all of whom have been willing to donate their time to encourage and develop social leaders in Australia.  To assist with the initiative development during and after the summit, we have arranged business analyst mentors from a diverse range of industries, which is intended help ensure that the projects launched at the Summit will be sustainable and ultimately succeed so that they have maximum impact.  Additionally, the University of Sydney and Google Australia have provided us with two spectacular inner city venues to host the Summit.

We have been fortunate to have the support of Tourism Australia and the Australian Tax Office for the 'BYM Consulting Day' - one of our three modes of funding the Summit's expenses.  This day will allow the delegates to demonstrate why they have been recongnised as Australia's 2010 Brightest Young Minds, as they will have to deploy their skills in Leadership, Passion, Creativity, Initiative, Intelligence, Charisma, Communication and Perseverance to problem-solve real issues facing both of these pivotal organisations.
