So why should you apply for the BYM summit? BYM is not just another premiere leadership event or talkfest; you will have experiences, exposure, learning, development and networking opportunities simply not available anywhere else. You will leave the event as a member of a family - the BYM family. But don’t simply take our word for it, read our delegate testimonials to see if we live up to our own hype. A ticket for similar leadership events would cost at least $2000, but if selected your ticket is free, and most meals are provided.
And let us reiterate - this is not just about academics and book smarts. The leaders of tomorrow - the BYMs of today - are not just those with intelligence, but also those with the creativity to think up great ideas, the boldness to enact them and the passion to see them through. And there's nothing like being surrounded by 99 other brilliant young people all working together to produce some great results.
And once you see what you are capable of, both individually and as a team, then you will get down to the real work - brainstorming real social initiatives or socially beneficial business ventures, and then turning them into practical concepts, which you yourselves will eventually launch and operate.
During all this time, you will be interacting with some of Australia's most inspiring speakers, including our skilled facilitator, Hugh Evans (Founder of the Oaktree Foundation and Young Australian of the year 2004). They will be talking to you about things ranging from the pressing issues Australia faces today, to their own fantastic success stories.

But there's a lot of fun to be had as well. Every night, we will take you out to party among the bright lights of Sydney. A big part of the BYM Summit is giving the delegates the opportunity to get to know each other and have fun!
And at the end, we cap it off with a ritzy event at the Westpac Head Office attended by prestigious guests and representatives from all our sponsors, where our delegates will present the concepts they have developed over the course of the summit and see if they catch anyone's interest...
This is also a great opportunity to impress top socially responsible companies on the lookout for talent. And if that doesn’t happen during the summit, being a Brightest Young Mind won’t hurt your CV!
If you believe you are going to have big future, or you deeply care about the future of your country, or even if you are cynical/skeptical but have the skills that might help, you should apply for Brightest Young Minds. It offers an unparalleled opportunity. And tell your friends and networks! There will be prizes for person who generates the most referrals.
The 2008 BYM Summit will take place 6-10 July in Sydney.
